- Abstract
- This piece of equipment was used by Anderson to discover the positron--the first empirical evidence for the existence of antimatter--in 1932. Four years later they announced the discvery of mesons (muons). Housed in the Guggenheim Aeronautical Lab, the apparatus was in service for seventeen years.
