Below portrait, a scene depicting the the Founding Fathers at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Proof of engraving, after a ca. 1785 oil painting, probably by French portrait painter Jean Valade (1709-1787), which is after a 1778 painting by Joseph Siffred Duplessis (1751-1831).
